Brent Wilcox

Executive Lullabies (post-1984)

ipr94
Brent was one of the founders of NEEF, who had a 7" release on IPR from 1984, and this LP of his humorous, quirky instrumentals is perfect mood music for the computer generation. Intelligent and witty, this is a swell thing. Only 500 copies made.
LP $5.00 (08) (500 made)

Obsession For Men

Debut from this band of ex-SAVAGE REPUBLIC members. Features Ethan Port, Greg Grunke and Thom Fuhrmann, and sounding like a bit more garagey SONIC YOUTH mixed with a SR feel, it's a very interesting piece of work with a brilliant cover take-off on the Calvin Klein ads.
7" single $4.25 (03)

Cool, instrumental electronic jazz, with an emphasis on developing trancy rhythms over the space of only a couple minutes per track. Very pleasant to listen to, but a little short and with no really memorable melodies or epic jams to keep calling you back to this CD. [4-1]

Looks like a great bargain to me!

A La Luna

The latest recordings from WOO, thanks to Grunki Records. More tuneful tunes from the brothers Ives, including their pop "hit" Magic In The Dark. Otherwise, all instrumental, a nice combination of acoustics and electronics.
CD $13.00 (04)
