I bought the Boss DS-1 distortion pedal on 2000-05-27 for $65.
The day I got my Triton, I whimsically decided to get a guitar (Ibanez StageStar) too.
The salesman said I needed something to amp the guitar to line-level, and recommended this distortion pedal.
I used it a couple times, but once I got the Pod Pro I had no need for it anymore.
It sounded okay, but I didn't like the fact that it didn't have a convenient power switch.
I had to unplug its power supply after each time I played it (since I didn't want to use up batteries).
I also wished it had more sound-changing options.
I think I was hoping for a multi-effects box, and this distortion pedal wasn't weird enough to cover up my pathetic guitar playing.

The Pod Pro completely blew it away.
