Notes
During the summer of 1999 I was living at my parents' house again. This gave me access to instruments that I hadn't used very often in grad school: my parents' piano, my sister's bass, her boyfriend's drums, and my little keyboard (Yamaha PSS-470).
On this Trex collection you can hear me messing around on all of those instruments, with varying degrees of failure.

This is a long bass and drums jam, recorded in multiple passes. I'm pretty sure I used my 4-track to record it (rather than a pair of tape recorders), since the sound is pretty good. Too bad the playing isn't!
It starts off slow, mysterious, and disconnected, but gets intense near the end. Of course, you need to invest eleven minutes in order to experience the good stuff. Got eleven minutes to spare? Me neither.

This is very bass-centric. It's slow and sloppy, but develops into a more solid groove than "Yike 1". But then it loses it. Hmm.

This is very heavily distorted. The music is punkier than on the previous songs. I can't understand any of the lyrics.

I felt like I was wasting tape. The "funny" thing is that this is a lot more memorable than most Trex. The solos are sloppy, but kinda cool. Don't know about the thumping though.
