A reunion is in the works of Jeff Runnings and Harry Dingman - the original members - to play at Lincoln Calling, a music festival in Lincoln, NE... at Knickerbockers on Friday, September 24th with The Prids.
...and from www.words-on-music.com:For Against announces the group has reformed for its first live show in years! After a 15-year absence from the band, original guitarist Harry Dingman III (from the Echelons and December albums) has rejoined For Against with singer/bassist Jeffrey Runnings and drummer Paul Engelhard. For Against is currently writing new material (!) and is also rehearsing several songs from Echelons and December for their first live show in years on September 24, 2004 at Knickerbockers in Lincoln, Nebraska. In August 2004 Words On Music re-released the bandıs acclaimed debut album Echelons now available for the first time on CD. To Jeff, Paul, and Harry: thank you!
Got my cd copy of SHELFLIFE this week and it's BEAUTIFUL! What a package! It will be for sale on November 4. I will be taking advance orders for the CD beginning next Monday, October 20. Regular price is $13.98, but I'm selling it for $13 even. Shipping will be $2, with no tax for anyone who lives outside PA.
For Against's excellent fifth LP has finally been scheduled for release on Independent Projects via World Domination Records. The Lincoln Nebraska trio's new opus, Shelflife, contains 10 songs, including their first ever cover versions (of East River Pipe and Tracy Thorn), and will be hitting the shops in mid-November. All together now: Hooray! At last!
Jack Rabid, editor of The Big Takeover, is probably For Against's biggest proponent within the music media. I highly recommend you check out his magazine for in depth For Against coverage. (See Articles)
