You know how we have all those tribute compilations (on Volume 4 now)? Well, there's been discussion on and off about creating a compilation of fan originals. The idea is that artists who contribute Cope/Teardriop cover songs would get to submit some of their own songs for inclusion on a "fan original" volume.

We'd probably want to limit the number of songs per artist on each volume to maybe 2 or 3, depending on the number of artists. It could get crazy otherwise; just look at how many songs <a href="/tripecac/songs/">Tripecac</a> has done!

We could also limit the artists to those who actually contributed cover songs. This would help protect us from being "spammed" by non-Cope fans who just want to get their music out.

What do y'all think? Any ideas for a name for the fan original project?

Sounds like a good idea. We'd be interested in contributing a couple of tracks. No idea what you could name it though.
