JC & The Black Sheep BBC Session - Sunday, May 3, 2009

Postby Common Era on 2009-04-30 07:37:00

Just a quick heads up that the Julian Cope & The Black Sheep session recently recorded for BBC 6Music Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone show (which I had the privilege to be part of by making various guttural vocal sounds and noises for effect) will be broadcast Sunday, May 3rd, at some point between 5 pm and 8 pm.

I don't know what exactly will be aired as well over an hour of gargantuan rants and rhythms were recorded, which I presume won't all make it to air and as I didn't get to hear a play back on the day, I don't even know what it's going to sound like!

BBC 6Music is a digital only station, but if you don't have a DAB radio, then you can listen via a Freeview TV on channel 707, or listen online at the link below. I'm not sure if this works for those outside the UK though, so try it an see. The show is usually up for a week after it's been broadcast.

The line up was:
Julian H. Cope
Christophe F
Acoustika
Michael O'Sullivan
Big Nige
Common Era
Anthrony Oh
Holy McGrail
Fat Paul

Common Era posted this on 2009-10-19:

Part 2 of this session was broadcast on Sunday, October 4, 2009 and it
included the two tracks that weren't broadcast the first time round: The
Doorway Character and Vachel Lindsay.

Sadly it's now gone from the BBC 'listen again' option, but if anyone is a
Dime user then both the first and second parts are up there:
